Although it is the middle of the summer, that doesn’t mean that plans aren’t already in the works for the upcoming hockey season.
The first plans that are starting to come to fruition are in regards to the September Alliance Showcase, which is being hosted by the Waterloo Wolves at RIM Park this season. The Showcase is the first good look at all the Alliance teams in action and lays the groundwork for some players to make a mark. One example is from the 2002 group when Ryan Gagnier tore up the Showcase in Windsor, putting his name into the conversation with teammate Matt Maggio as one of the top skaters in the loop.
While we are still three months away from its beginnings, the Showcase schedule has been put out there and we have it here in its entirety. It should be noted that the Showcase at RIM Park will be split between two rinks. The Pillers rink, which is the home ice for the Minor Midget Wolves, and the Optimists rink will be where the entire event takes place.
